Document Technology, Inc. (formerly American Microfilm and Records Management) started as a microfilm service bureau in1983 and in1985 moved to Brookley Field. Cy Avery and Lyndell Farmer covered the Gulf Coast soliciting business for the service bureau. As customers and business grew, AM & RM, ran out of room and moved to a new location at 924 Butler Drive. Nationally recognized manufacturers of record management equipment and supplies were added and offered to our customers.
AM & RM became a dealer for Minolta and started promoting their line of microfilm reader printers and microfilm cameras in three states along the Gulf Coast. Several sales representatives were added and business continued to grow. Again AM & RM outgrew their building and moved into a brand new building at 1502 Azalea Rd. Additional Sales representatives and service personnel were added and we moved into the records storage business with an additional building.
With the change in todays technology and recognizing that the name American Microfilm and Records Management didn't adequately convey the total scope of our business, in the spring of 1996 we changed our name to Document Technology, Inc.
For the past 20 years, Document Technology has been helping businesses all along the Gulf Coast solve their record storage and retrieval problems. As a full line document management company, we offer the best and most cost effective solutions in color coded folders, static and moveable aisle shelving, microfilm equipment and conversions, electronic imaging equipment and conversions and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software.
We will continue to offer our customers, present and future, the best products and the best service to solve their document storage and retrieval problems. Our company was founded on SERVICE and that will never change.
